Immerse yourself in Morocco for a week, experiencing the magic with our specially crafted 7-day tour from Casablanca to Marrakech. This journey spans 7 days and 6 nights, taking you through Morocco’s most captivating destinations.
Our adventure begins in northern Morocco, in the vibrant city of Casablanca. We’ll then journey to Rabat, the country’s capital, followed by the stunning blue city of Chefchaouen. Further exploration unveils the ancient Roman ruins of Volubilis, the Ismaili capital of Meknes, and finally, the cultural heart of Morocco, Fes.
Our path then leads us south, where you can discover Ifrane, also known as Morocco’s Switzerland, along with the majestic cedar forests. You will visit Midelt, then you’ll encounter the breathtaking Ziz Valley, the traditional market of Rissani, and the fossil-rich town of Erfoud.
On the initial day, we'll pick you up early from the Casablanca airport, port, or your accommodation. As Morocco's economic hub, Casablanca is the largest city. Our first stop will be the Hassan II Mosque, the biggest mosque in Morocco. It sits on a promontory on the city's western coast, overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. Enjoy some free time for lunch before we explore the city, including a visit to the stunning Cornish of Casablanca. Overnight accommodation at a hotel.
After a hearty breakfast, we'll begin our drive along the coastline to Rabat. This city serves as Morocco's current capital and holds a place amongst the imperial cities. Situated in the northwest of Morocco, you'll experience the city's highlights including: the Hassan Tower, the Mausoleum of Mohammed V, and the Kasbah of Oudaya. There will be free time for lunch. In the afternoon, we head north, passing through Ouazzane, on our way to Chefchaouen, also known as the Blue City. Nestled in the Rif Mountains, Chefchaouen is known for its captivating buildings and alleyways, all painted in shades of blue. Finally, we'll stay overnight in a hotel.
After a relaxed breakfast, indulge in the opportunity to explore the enchanting alleyways of Chefchaouen, the Blue City. We will then journey to the ancient Roman ruins of Volubilis. They are impressively well-preserved and recognized as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. You'll find numerous beautiful mosaics scattered amongst the ruins, along with age-old pillars and archways. Following your exploration of the ruins, we drive 30 kilometers to Meknes. Considered an Ismaili capital, Meknes is also another of the imperial cities. We'll tour the key sites there, including Bab Al-Mansour, the Sahrij Souani basin, the Royal stables, the granary and also Moulay Ismail Mausoleum. We then make our way to Fes for an overnight stay at a Riad.
Today is dedicated to a guided exploration of Fes, uncovering its most iconic sites with a local guide. Fes stands out as an imperial city, as well as being Morocco's cultural and religious center. We'll begin by visiting the Royal Palace gate. Then, we'll step into the well-preserved medieval Medina, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You'll discover the Blue Gate (Bab Boujloud), which serves as the gateway to the old Medina. This entrance leads you into a maze of alleyways and streets. Within the Medina, you'll experience Medrasa Bouanania, the Najjarine fountain, the Tanneries and the Quaraouin mosque and university, which is recognized as the world's oldest university. Later, we leave the Medina to visit the Jewish Quarter, also known as "the Mellah". Afterward, we proceed to an ancient fortress offering a panoramic view of the Medina and Fes. Return to your Riad for the night.
Post-breakfast, we begin our southward drive through Imouzzer, with a stop at Ifrane. Noted for its sub-zero temperatures, snowfall and alpine-style architecture, Ifrane is commonly referred to as the Switzerland of Morocco. Our adventure proceeds to the cedar forest, where Barbary macaques dwell. Feel free to interact with these primates while you wander through the forest. Later, we will continue to Midelt, giving you a chance to have lunch at your leisure. We then journey to Merzouga, passing through the Tizi-n-Tilghmt pass, following the Ziz valley, while stopping for scenic photo opportunities. During the afternoon, we'll reach the Merzouga Sahara desert. Here you’ll switch to camels and experience a cross-desert trek. We'll stop on a towering dune to admire the sunset. You'll eventually reach the camp. It's a fusion of traditional nomad tents and the comforts of a hotel, where you can soak in the sounds of Berber drum music as you dance around a campfire beneath the vast starry night. Enjoy a memorable dinner and stay overnight at the camp.
Waking up early on day six is essential, allowing you to admire the incredible sunrise over the desert landscape. There will be time for breakfast. After that you'll return on camels to Merzouga, where the driver is waiting. We'll then move to Rissani, the ancient capital of Tafilalet. It’s still a central trading spot in the region, with a vibrant souk operating three days a week. Following some time in Rissani’s souk, we head for Erfoud, where we will visit a fossilized marble workshop. Our drive proceeds through the Touroug and Tinjdad palm groves on our way to the Todra Gorges. The Todra River’s flow has carved a majestic canyon through the mountains, forming a steep-sided red cliff canyon. These gorges are a paradise for rock climbers. Take some time to explore the gorges, and admire the stunning views. We'll include free time for lunch in a restaurant. We continue on towards the Dades valley, through Boumalne Dades, with required stops at the "monkey fingers" rock formation, and another spot with amazing views across the Dades valley. Have dinner, and stay overnight at a hotel.
On this last day of the trip, our route continues towards Kalaa Magouna to experience the Rose Valley. Annually in May, a Rose Festival is held here, offering a variety of rose products. From perfumes and rosewater to oils and beauty items. Our drive will carry us through the Skoura palm groves and onwards to Ouarzazate. Following, we'll visit the film studios where numerous famous movies have been shot. From there we'll proceed to the renowned Ait Benhaddou Kasbah, a fortified village which is a UNESCO World Heritage site. It has featured in countless movies including: Gladiator, Alexander, The Mummy, and several TV series including Game of Thrones. After that, we'll continue to Marrakech, crossing the Tizi-N-Tichka pass and the High Atlas Mountains, making photo stops. Lastly, we arrive in Marrakech, transferring you to the airport or your chosen accommodation. This marks the conclusion of your seven-day Moroccan adventure.
