Day 1: Arrival to Casablanca – Visit The Largest City Of Morocco

On the first day of your 12 Days Morocco Tour From Casablanca, we will meet you at the airport or at your accommodation in Casablanca largest city and economic heartbeat of Morocco. Your journey starts with a fantastic visit to Hassan II Mosque, which stands on a promontory overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. One of the many reasons why this mosque is the pride of Morocco is that it is the largest mosque in the country, but its architectural intricacy and its setting by the sea make it a must-see landmark.

After some free time for lunch, we continue exploring the highlights of Casablanca. Depending on your arrival time, the tour may include:

A leisurely walk along the vibrant Corniche of Casablanca

Day 2: Casablanca – Rabat, the Capital – Chefchaouen

After breakfast, we will travel along the coast to Rabat. Rabat is Morocco’s imperial city and is still the country’s capital today. It sits in the northwest and is home to several main attractions, including the famous Hassan Tower, the mausoleum of Mohammed V, and the Kasbah of Oudaya. We will take a break for lunch. In the afternoon, we will continue north through Ouazzane to Chefchaouen, the famous Blue City in the Rif Mountains. We will spend the night at a hotel.

Day 3: Sightseeing Chefchaouen the blue city

After breakfast, we’ll head to Chefchaouen, also known as the blue city. In Berber, it’s called Achaoun, meaning “horns.” The city sits in the Rif Mountains in northwestern Morocco and is famous for its blue and white buildings and narrow streets. We’ll start by exploring the old Medina, where you’ll see bright blue doors set in white walls. After that, you’ll have free time for lunch. In the afternoon, we’ll hike up to the Spanish Mosque, which sits on a hill and gives you a great view of the whole city. At the end of the day, we’ll return to your hotel, where you’ll spend the night.

Day 4: Chefchaouen – The Roman Ruins of Volubilis – Meknes – Fes

After breakfast, you’ll stroll through the charming, narrow streets of Chefchaouen, Morocco’s famous Blue City. Next, you’ll explore the ancient Roman ruins of Volubilis, a UNESCO World Heritage site known for its well-preserved mosaics, classical columns, and grand arches. Once you’ve had time to wander among the ruins, we’ll drive about thirty kilometers to Meknes, the former administrative capital of Sultan Moulay Ismail and one of Morocco’s imperial cities. There, you’ll visit landmarks like Bab Al-Mansour, the Sahrij Souani water basin, the old Royal Stables, the granaries, and the tomb of Moulay Ismail. The day ends in Fes, where you’ll spend the night in a traditional Riad.

Day 5: Sightseeing Fes with a Local Guide

Start your day with breakfast at your Riad in Fes to get ready for your pickup. This marks the beginning of your journey in Fes, Morocco’s main cultural and spiritual center and one of its renowned imperial capitals.

You’ll begin with a drive along a scenic route. The first stop is the impressive gates of the Royal Palace, followed by a visit to the Mellah, the former Jewish quarter. Next, you’ll head up to Borj Sud for amazing views of the old Medina. The driving tour ends with a visit to the Ceramic Village and School, famous for its centuries-old handcrafting traditions.

Next, you’ll explore on foot. As you enter the old Medina, a UNESCO World Heritage site and one of the best-preserved historic centers in the Arab world, it will feel like stepping back in time. With a knowledgeable local guide, you’ll visit landmarks such as the Al Attarine Madrasa, the famous Chouara Tanneries, where leather is still dyed using traditional methods, and the Al Quaraouiyine Mosque and University, which is said to be the oldest continually operating university in the world.

After this rich historical tour, you’ll return to your Riad for a short rest before continuing your day.

Day 6: Fes – Ifrane – Cedars forest – Midelt – Ziz valley – Merzouga Sahara

After breakfast, we head south through Imouzzer to Ifrane, a city famous for its cold weather, snow, and chalet-style buildings. That’s why people often call it the Switzerland of Morocco. Our twelve-day journey continues to the cedar forests, home to Barbary apes. Visitors are welcome to feed the monkeys during their walk in the forest. Next, we travel to Midelt for a lunch break. From there, we make our way to Merzouga, passing through the Tizi-n-Tilghmt pass and crossing the Ziz valley, stopping along the way to enjoy some amazing views.

In the afternoon, we arrive in Merzouga, on the edge of the Sahara. From here, you’ll ride camels across the sand. We’ll stop on a high dune to watch the sunset before heading to camp. The camp combines the charm of nomadic tents with the comfort of a quality hotel. At night, you’ll hear the rhythmic sounds of Berber drums and can join in dancing around the bonfire under a sky full of stars. Dinner and a good night’s rest await you at the camp.

Day 7: Explore Merzouga region – Nomads – Khamlia – Merzouga lake – Erg Chebbi – palm grove

Start your day early to catch the beautiful sunrise in the heart of the desert. After breakfast, you can choose to travel to Merzouga by camel or 4×4, where your driver will meet you. Day seven of your 12-day Morocco journey is all about exploring the Merzouga area. Here, you’ll find impressive dunes, a hidden lake, mineral sites, fossil-rich grounds, and lush oases. These spots are perfect for anyone who loves outdoor adventures.

We’ll start our Merzouga adventure by heading off-road to visit an old mine known for its use in eyeliners. Next, we’ll meet nomadic families in their handmade tents and share authentic Berber tea while learning about their way of life. After that, we’ll visit the village of Khamlia to enjoy live Gnaoua music and dancing. Many people here have roots in countries like Mali, Sudan, and Niger. Lunch will be at a local restaurant. Later, we’ll walk through a palm grove and take a short drive to the wild lake of Merzouga, sometimes called the flamingos’ lake. In the evening, we’ll return to Merzouga for dinner and an overnight stay at a hotel.

Day 8: Merzouga Sahara – Rissani – Erfoud – Todra Gorges – Dades Valley

After breakfast, we’ll leave the desert and head to Rissani, the historic capital of Tafilalet. Rissani remains an important commercial hub, with a lively souk open every Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday.

After exploring the Rissani souk, we’ll travel to Erfoud to visit a workshop that works with fossilized marble. From there, we’ll drive through the palm groves of Touroug and Tinjdad until we reach the Todra Gorges. The Todra River has carved a dramatic granite canyon here, with steep red walls that are popular with rock climbers. You’ll have time to walk through the gorges and take in the stunning scenery before we stop for lunch at a local restaurant. Later, we’ll continue to the Dades Valley by way of Boumalne Dades, making sure to stop at the ‘monkey fingers’ rock formation and to enjoy the beautiful views over the valley. We’ll end the day with dinner and an overnight stay at a hotel.

Day 9: Dades Valley – Roses Valley – Palm Groves of Skoura – Ouarzazate Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah – High Atlas Mountains – Marrakech

After breakfast in the morning, it was onward to Kalaa Magouna Valley of Roses, to be explored. There is an annual Rose Festival in this area, which is conducted every May, during which the residents display an array of products made from roses, such as perfumes, rose water, essential oils, and cosmetics. Then we go through the Skoura palm oases before reaching Ouarzazate, which is a city that we will explore with a visit to the film studios where many internationally acclaimed films have been shot.

The tour then directs us to the famous Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, a fortified historic city that is included in the World Heritage list of UNESCO. The kasbah has also been the setting for a great deal of films, such as *Gladiator*, *Alexander*, *The Mummy*, etc., and television series, such as *Game of Thrones*. Then we continue our route to Marrakech, crossing the pass Tizi-N-Tichka and the majestic High Atlas Mountains. This route will have its stops along the way for lunch and views at picturesque turnouts. The day finishes with an overnight stay in a traditionally styled Riad in Marrakech.

Day 10: Guided Tour sightseeing Marrakesh

Tu day in Marrakech begins with a delicious breakfast, followed by a guided tour led by a local expert. As one of Morocco’s ancient capitals, Marrakech is full of cultural heritage and impressive landmarks. You’ll visit the beautiful Bahia Palace from the 1800s and finish at the well-preserved Ben Youssef Madrasa, once an Islamic college and a great example of Moroccan architecture. You’ll also explore the lively Medina, where you can wander through winding markets filled with colorful goods and skilled artisans. The tour wraps up as you take in the vibrant atmosphere of Jamaa El Fna Square and admire the view of the Koutoubia Mosque.

You can enjoy lunch at your own pace. In the afternoon, your driver will take you to the famous Majorelle Garden, which requires an advance online reservation. Afterward, you’ll drive through Gueliz, the modern part of Marrakech, before returning to your accommodation.

Day 11: Marrakech – Essaouira

After breakfast, we will head west toward Essaouira. On the way, we will stop to see the Argan tree groves and visit local cooperatives. If we are lucky, we might spot goats climbing the trees. When we arrive in Essaouira, once called Mogador, you will find one of Morocco’s important seaside towns. The city is known for its fresh seafood, beautiful beach, and great surfing. You will have free time to explore the busy fishing harbor, the old fort with its cannons, and the Medina, the historic city center. At the end of the day, we will help you get settled into your accommodation. You will spend the night in Essaouira.

Day 12: Essaouira – Casablanca

As we travel from Esauira to Casablanca on the last day, we will drop you off at a departure terminal of your choice within the Casablanca airport itself. Ideally, your flight is timed out for 4:00 PM or later. (Note: The tour can also end in Marrakech.)

The meeting point for the tour is at 09 a.m. at any location within Marrakech. If your Riad is accessible by car, we will pick you up directly from there. In case of accessibility issues, we will pick you up from the nearest accessible road point. This can be arranged upon confirmation of your booking.

At the end of the tour, we will drop you off at any location in Tangier or its surroundings.
