Tu 2-day tour from Fes to Merzouga Desert starts early in the morning. You’ll travel through the beautiful Middle Atlas Mountains, taking in wide views and the crisp mountain air.
You’ll stop in Ifrane, known as the “Switzerland of Morocco” for its alpine-style buildings and tidy streets. Next, visit the Cedars Forest of Azrou, where you can see Barbary macaques, take photos, and enjoy a short walk.
The trip heads south along mountain roads to Midelt, a town between the Middle Atlas and High Atlas ranges, where you can stop for lunch if you like. After lunch, you’ll drive through the Ziz Valley, one of Morocco’s biggest palm oases, with great views of palm groves and traditional ksour.
By late afternoon, you’ll reach Merzouga Sahara at the edge of the golden Erg Chebbi dunes. Here, you’ll meet your camels and take a sunset trek across the dunes. Afterward, enjoy dinner and spend the night in a desert camp under the stars.

Day 2: Merzouga – Rissani – Erfoud – Ziz valley – Ifrane – Fes

Start your day early to catch the beautiful sunrise over the Erg Chebbi dunes, then enjoy breakfast at the campamento en el desierto. Head back to Merzouga village by camel or 4×4, and continue your journey to Fes.
Travel through Rissani, known as the historic gateway to the Sahara, and once a busy trading center. Continue to Erfoud, a town famous for its fossils and date products. Drive through the scenic Ziz Valley again, stopping to take in the views and snap photos of the palm-filled oasis.
