Itinerary

Day 1: Tangier – Chefchaouen (3 Hours Drive Road)

We will pick you up from either Tangier Airport or Tangier MED and drive to Chefchaouen, the nearest city in the Rif Mountains. The views over the valleys and nearby villages are breathtaking. Chefchaouen is famous worldwide for its bright blue buildings, making it a fantastic spot for photography. As you wander the narrow, stone-paved streets lined with blue walls in the old city, you’ll notice many men wearing traditional wool Djellabas and many women in colorful straw hats. Lunch will be at a local restaurant, and afterward, you can explore the main medina square to shop for regional crafts, such as wool clothing and handwoven throws. You’ll spend the night in an authentic Moroccan riad, with breakfast included.

Day 2: Chefchaouen – Meknes – Volubilis – Fes (4 Hours Drive Road)

After breakfast, we will head to Meknes, Morocco’s third Imperial City. Meknes is often called “The Versailles of Morocco” because of its beautifully decorated gates. We will visit Bab El Khamis and Bab El Mansour, two of the most impressive gateways, as well as the Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail. Next, we will travel to Moulay Idriss Zerhoun, an important pilgrimage site for Moroccans, where we will have lunch. Afterward, we will explore the ancient Roman ruins of Volubilis, a UNESCO World Heritage Site dating back to the third century BC, famous for its well-preserved mosaics. Once we finish our visit, we will continue to Fes, where you will spend the night in an authentic Moroccan riad, with both dinner and breakfast included.

Day 3: Fes, Tour of the City with a Local Guide

After breakfast at your traditional Moroccan house, we will set out for Chefchaouen, stopping in Asilah along the way. Much of our route will follow the coast. Our first stop is Asilah, where you can explore the town. Asilah is famous for its annual art festival, and many walls in the old city (Medina) are adorned with artwork by artists from around the world. You will also visit the Skalla ramparts, which offer great views of the Medina and the sea. If time allows, we will take a short drive through Tangier so you can get a feel for the city. Then, we will continue along the lower slopes of the Rif mountains to Chefchaouen. Tonight, you will stay in an authentic Moroccan riad, with breakfast included.

Day 4: Fez – Azrou – Midelt – Errachidia – Ziz valley – Erfoud – Merzouga (5 Hours Drive Road)

After breakfast, we’ll set off from Fez to Merzouga. Along the way, we’ll pass through Ifran, often called the “Switzerland of Morocco” for its unique architecture and cool climate. You’ll enjoy the cedar forests near Azrou, where friendly monkeys live. We’ll stop for lunch in Midelt, then continue through the Middle Atlas Mountains and see nomadic communities. The landscape is beautiful and varied, with thick forests, volcanic rocks, cliffs, and valleys filled with date palms. When we reach Erfoud, we’ll visit a fossil workshop to see how fossils like Trilobites, Orthoceras, and Ammonites are extracted and crafted into beautiful pieces. Our day ends in Merzouga, where you’ll stay at a Riad with dinner and breakfast included.

Day 5: Merzouga – Erg Chebbi Dunes – Tamrdanite – Khamlia Hassi El-Bied (2 Hours Drive Road)

Commencing post-breakfast, your desert journey kicks off right from your tent accommodations. We’ll traverse the sand seas, approaching the Algerian frontier, offering excellent photo opportunities, including views of dark volcanic stone formations. Additionally, we anticipate encountering a nomadic family, which will offer insights into their traditional way of life. Our route will take us near small Berber settlements, such as Tamrdanite, on the way to Khamlia. Upon arrival in the minuscule desert settlement of Khamlia, prepare to be captivated by a Gnawa music presentation—a deeply spiritual and mesmerizing genre historically performed by the local Black community. This music is recognized globally and is often credited with therapeutic benefits.

Today’s short drive is full of beautiful sights, especially the lake near Ait Sareji. In spring, the lake is especially bright, attracting pink flamingos and many other birds. After enjoying the scenery, you’ll set off on a camel trek. Riding these amazing animals, you’ll travel deep into the Sahara and watch the sunset over the dunes. Back at the Dunes Luxury Camp, you can look forward to another night of delicious Berber food under a sky full of stars.

Day 6: Erg Chebbi – Erfoud – Tinjdad – Tinghir – Todgha Gorges – Boumalne Dades (3- 4 Hours Drive Road)

Set your alarm early to watch the beautiful sunrise over the dunes. This is a moment you won’t want to miss. Afterward, enjoy breakfast before we head by car to Rissani, once the home of the Alawite Sultans. Rissani was an important stop for trade caravans traveling south of the Sahara, and its market is still lively today. We’ll wander through the local bazaar and its traditional covered walkways. We’ll also visit the remains of Sijilmassa, see the impressive Moulay Ali Cherif Gateway, and stop at the tomb complex of Moulay Ali Cherif, the father of the dynasty’s founder. If you’re interested in history and want to see the Gateway, this is a great place to explore. For lunch, we’ll stop in Tinjdad. Then we’ll follow the river to the Gorges, where we’ll take time to walk through this stunning area, with towering rock walls that reach up to 300 meters. Many films have been shot in this dramatic landscape. After that, we’ll drive through Boumalne Du Dades, where you can see unique rock formations that look like human figures and monkey fingers. Tonight, you’ll stay in an authentic Moroccan guesthouse, with your room and breakfast included.

Day 7: Dades Valley – Boutghrar – El Kelaa M’gouna – Skoura – Ourzazate (4 Hours Drive Road)

After breakfast, we’ll start our journey through the Dades Valley, enjoying the beautiful views. Next, we’ll take a 4×4 to explore the Pist Mil Kasbah, passing through Berber villages like Boutghrar. Along the way, you’ll have the chance to meet local Berber nomads who live in nearby caves. Our route then leads us to El Kelaa M’gouna, also called the Valley of Roses, where roses are grown and made into perfumes, oils, and skin products. We’ll stop here for lunch. Afterward, we’ll head to Ourzazate, passing through the palm oasis of Skoura, where you can see several unique Kasbahs, including the Amerhidil Kasbah. When we arrive in Ourzazate, you’ll check into an authentic Moroccan riad for the night, with dinner and breakfast included.

Day 8: Ourzazate – Ait Benhaddou – Tizi N’Tichka Pass – Marrakech (4 Hours Drive Road)

After breakfast, we’ll set off for Marrakech. Our first stop is the fascinating Kasbah of Aït Benhaddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Next, we’ll visit Atlas Studios, the world’s largest film studio complex. Many famous movies and TV shows have been filmed here, including *Lawrence of Arabia*, *The Jewel of the Nile*, *The Mummy*, *Gladiator*, *The Man Who Would Be King*, *Vikings*, *Game of Thrones*, *Aladdin*, and several James Bond and Jason Bourne films. After lunch, we’ll drive over the Tizi N’Tichka Pass, where you’ll see stunning views of the High Atlas Mountains and small Berber villages. Tonight, you’ll stay in a traditional Moroccan riad, with your room and breakfast included.

Day 9: Marrakech, Tour of the City with a Local Guide

After breakfast, you’ll spend the whole day exploring Marrakech, known as the “Red City.” A guide will show you some of the city’s most impressive sights, including the 19th-century Bahia Palace, the 16th-century Saadian Tombs, the famous Koutoubia Mosque, and the colorful Majorelle Gardens. Lunch will be served in the historic Medina. You’ll also have time to wander through the lively Souks, where vendors sell everything from leather goods and rugs to spices and jewelry. Jemaa el-Fnaa, one of the world’s most famous public squares and a UNESCO World Heritage site, is always full of energy. Here, you’ll see merchants, street performers like snake charmers and acrobats, illusionists, musicians, spiritual figures, and even animal handlers with monkeys. Tonight, you’ll stay in an authentic Moroccan riad, with breakfast included.

Day 10: Marrakech – Essaouira (3.5 Hours Drive Road)

After breakfast, we’ll leave the royal city of Marrakech and head to Essaouira, a seaside town known for its impressive ramparts, the Gnaoua Music Festival, and international windsurfing events. Thanks to strong, steady trade winds, Essaouira is famous among kitesurfers and windsurfers. The town is also an important center for the production of Argan oil. One of its unique sights is local goats climbing Argan trees, something you’ll only see here. Essaouira is full of life, with a busy harbor, colorful souk, and a history of inspiring artists. Tonight, you’ll stay in an authentic Moroccan riad, with both lodging and breakfast included.

Day 11: Essaouira – Chichaoua – Marrakech. (3.5 Hours Drive Road)

After breakfast, we will take you about 20 kilometers from Essaouira to Sidi Kaouki, one of Morocco’s most beautiful and untouched beaches. You can spend half the day swimming and relaxing. We’ll enjoy a tasty lunch by the sea before heading back to Marrakech. Your overnight stay will be in your Riad, and breakfast is included.

Day 12: Marrakesh to your FLIGHT TIME

Once you finish breakfast, we’ll take you to the airport in time for your flight.

How Long is The Camel Ride?

The Camel ride is 40 minutes to 1.5 hours long, depending on which camp you are staying in.

Pick-up and Drop-off Details

The meeting point for the tour is at 09 a.m. at any location within Marrakech. If your Riad is accessible by car, we will pick you up directly from there. In case of accessibility issues, we will pick you up from the nearest accessible road point. This can be arranged upon confirmation of your booking.

At the end of the tour, we will drop you off at any location in Tangier or its surroundings.

Expenses

Currency Exchange : Euros or USD can be exchanged for Moroccan Dirham (MAD) at various locations throughout Morocco, including banks and currency exchange bureaus. Additionally, ATMs are widely available for cash withdrawals.
